Yet knowing the value of attention doesn’t necessarily change how we spend it.We move through our days planning, managing responsibilities, and thinking about what comes next, often missing what's happening around us.The challenge isn’t a lack of information. I am building something I need too.I have spent more than two decades learning how to see, and I still need help remembering to be here.As a professional photographer, I've learned to observe light, space, and details that often go unnoticed. Photography has given me a disciplined way of paying attention.My meditation practice and teacher training gave me another perspective on the same experience. Together, these practices became Photography as Meditation.But understanding attention doesn’t mean I’ve mastered it.I still find myself distracted by the future, occupied by unfinished concerns, or moving through familiar experiences without giving them my full attention.Notice began with that recognition.I am not building Notice because I have arrived. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the Notice mobile application, including its pre-release testing versions.Your photographs, voice recordings, and personal reflections are private. Notice is designed to help you preserve these experiences without creating a public profile or sharing them with other users.1. Information you createWhen using Notice, you may create or provide:* Photographs taken or selected during a Journey.
* Voice recordings of your personal reflections.
* Written reflections and speech transcripts.
* Journey progress, dates, and related session information.
* Personal films created from your photographs and reflections.This information is used to provide the app’s features, including saving Moments, reviewing previous experiences, and creating Journey Films.2. How your information is storedNotice is designed to store your photographs, recordings, reflections, and Journey information locally on your device.Notice does not require you to create an account to participate in the seven-day Journey.Your personal Moments are not published or made accessible to other Notice users.Certain device services, including speech recognition and device backups, may process or retain information according to your device settings and the services used. See Section 4.3. Device permissionsNotice may request access to:Camera: To capture photographs during your Journey.Photo Library: To select photographs and save images or exported films.Microphone: To record spoken reflections.Speech Recognition: To convert spoken reflections into written text, where supported.These permissions are used to provide the features you choose to use. You can manage them through your iPhone’s Settings.4. Speech recognition and third-party servicesNotice may use Apple’s speech recognition capabilities to generate transcripts of your voice reflections.Depending on the speech recognition implementation and your device’s capabilities, speech processing may occur on your device or involve Apple’s services.Notice does not intentionally send your personal reflections to advertising platforms or use them to train general-purpose AI models.Where Apple or other service providers process information, their applicable privacy practices may also apply.5. Sharing and exportingNotice does not automatically publish your photographs, recordings, reflections, or Journey Films.You may choose to export or share content using features provided by the app and your device.Once you share information outside Notice, its handling will depend on the application, service, or person receiving it.6. Analytics, advertising, and trackingNotice is not designed around advertising or behavioural profiling.The app does not intentionally use your personal photographs or reflections for targeted advertising.During pre-release testing, Apple may provide testing, diagnostic, and crash information through TestFlight and related developer tools. Apple’s handling of this information is governed by its own privacy practices.Any additional analytics or diagnostic services used by Notice will be disclosed in an updated version of this policy.7. Data retention and deletionYour Journey content is intended to remain on your device until you choose to remove it or delete the application.Deleting Notice generally removes information stored within the application’s local storage.Photographs saved to your Photo Library, exported films, device backups, or copies shared with other applications may remain after Notice is deleted.If you contact the developer by email, your correspondence may be retained as necessary to respond to your inquiry and manage testing feedback.8. Children’s privacyNotice is not specifically designed for children.Parents and guardians should supervise use by minors and ensure that photographs or recordings involving other people are created and shared appropriately.9. SecurityNotice is designed to minimize the collection and transmission of personal information.Information stored on your device benefits from the security features provided by your operating system and device settings.No method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.10. Changes to this policyThis Privacy Policy may be updated as Notice develops, new features are introduced, or data-handling practices change.The latest version will be available on the Notice website, with the effective date updated when changes are made.11.
